Deanna Mance

Mance's artwork combines motifs of intricate, geometric elements that are organically arranged. Aside from deciding the balance of color and composition, Mance's artwork is approached with spontaneity and intuition. She employs freehand drawing and printmaking techniques as well as a wide variety of media such as: ink, acrylics, graphite, tea-stained paper, wood and other organic materials. Her work strives to mimic the lay-outs of improbable objects or the mistranslation of an undiscovered language that reveals the inner workings of nature and life. Though not a real engineer, Mance still perceives her artwork as blueprints that capture the spirit and beauty of nature's mechanics. Deanna Mance is a local artist who was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Pittsburgh in 2004. She has been a practicing artist for eight years and has shown regionally, as well as internationally in London.
